“Now that all the work is done and the dedication has been held, I want to take this moment to express my thanks as well as my joy for what has been created…” Reverend William Scriviner, Senior Director of Pastoral Care, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center
Schickel Design is well known for its outstanding work in creating transcendent Sacred Space with a particular strength in creating multi faith chapels. Chapel of the Holy Child is a beautiful space with an underlying sense of unity, peace and harmony. The underlying human experience of suffering and salvation, addressed by all religions is expressed in two sets of large reversible canvas paintings. Chapel of the Holy Child bridges the history of Cincinnati Children’s by incorporating a number of beautiful pieces from the original chapel, built in 1925. It also bridges the history of Schickel Design Company with some of the last major pieces created by William Schickel, the founder of Schickel Design in five large stained glass windows depicting the elements of creation from the point of view of a child.
