Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired - Cincinnati, OH

SERVICES: Wayfinding, Experiential Graphic Design, Art Curation, Vision for Space

DESCRIPTION: In collaboration with other artists, Schickel Design assembled a unique art installation to manifest the identity of this organization, in a way which unites the children’s services, cafeteria, and offices that occupy a newly renovated floor.  The project included interactive, tactile art for a children’s nook which caters to blind and seeing visitors alike, and acoustic wall panels with imagery of the seasons in the multipurpose rooms -- doubling as pieces of art and practical equipment when the rooms are utilized for music therapy. With descriptive graphics of the organization’s services bringing these elements together, we created a cohesive, branded environment. As a multidisciplinary firm, Schickel Design is well-versed in helping institutions manifest their vision in their public space.
