Teller Residence - Cincinnati, OH

SERVICES: Programming, Schematic Design, Rendering, Architecture, General Contracting, Construction Administration

DESCRIPTION: This beautiful home, nestled in the woods of Milford, Ohio, was originally built by the client for his family. But with new accommodation needs arising with an aging mother, he and his wife hired Schickel Design to address multiple areas of concern with one renovation. We designed and constructed a handicap accessible addition, which has a private entrance while maintaining a feeling of integration with the family community. By raising the main entrance to the same level as the addition, we established the entire first floor as handicap accessible as well. Then, by connecting the two basements, we effectively created both a united lower level, and a united upper level. Finally, an innovative landscape design created an exterior courtyard, uniting the two wings of the house. Maximizing form and function, the addition now coheres the other parts of the family home.
